Ever wonder how yarn gets made? Here’s your opportunity to learn how it happens! Join our very own knitting teacher and shepherdess, Jodi Horgan, for the hands-on presentation “Sheep to Skein.” Jodi will walk us through the process from shearing to finished yarn. Students will get their hands on wool at the various stages of the process and see the types of equipment involved in the making of yarn. Participants will also get to try hand spinning. We will learn the difference between worsted and woolen spun yarn and how that affects your project. Students will also learn that there’s a whole world full of sheep besides Merino. After the presentation, participants will do a needle felting project decorating wool dryer balls! Skill level: All levels! Materials are included in the class cost. Class will be limited to 10 students.

- REGISTRATION: Please register online, in-store, or call us at (412) 794-8332. We require payment in full at the time of registration to reserve your spot.
- CLASS MINIMUMS: Private = 1 student, Group = 3 or more.
- CANCELLATIONS: Class fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. Cancellations must be made at least 3 days before the first class for a STORE CREDIT. Registrants may cancel (via email: info@YarnsByDesignPA.com, subject: class cancellation). We will not accept cancellations via voicemail. We cannot offer store credit if we receive less than 3 days' notice.
- MISSED CLASSES: We do not offer make-ups or credit for missed classes.
- PROMPTNESS: We do not make up any time lost for tardiness, please arrive promptly. If you are more than 15 minutes late, you forfeit the class and fees.
- CLASS DISCOUNTS: Students will receive a 10% discount on the purchase of supplies required for the class.
- OTHER DETAILS: Class fees do not include the cost of yarn/materials unless otherwise stated.
